As the crow flies, Charleville is 683km west of the QLD capital of Brisbane.
Established in 1865 modern day Charleville has a local population of 3500.
The cosmos centre is a hive of activity year round and a definite must see when you visit the region. Marvel at the firmament wonder through their powerful Meade telescopes, or visit during the day to gaze at the biggest star in our sky through their special sun filters.
They also have indigenous Dream Time stories and tours telling ancient stories of the first nations through the stars.

You can even get up close and personal with an endangered bilby, but the most unique treasure to discover at the Cosmos Centre is found in this small building with a big story. (More on that in a future blog)
