One Town at a Time - Patreon Campaign

Thanks for checking out my Patreon video to see what this is all about.
Your time, consideration and support is most humbly appreciated.
Is this our last chance at Rock n Roll romance or another song no one will hear?

What is a patron?
I’m just going to refer to the bastion of modern day knowledge Wikipedia.
Patronage is the support, encouragement, privilege, or financial aid that an organization or individual bestows to another. In the history of art, arts patronage refers to the support that kings, popes, and the wealthy have provided to artists such as musicians, painters, and sculptors
Rulers, nobles and very wealthy people used patronage of the arts to endorse their political ambitions, social positions, and prestige. That is, patrons operated as sponsors.

That’s right for $10 a month you can ensure that a group starving artists can be rather, Artists whilst also managing to keep a roof over their heads and have a positive state of mind with which to create magical art.

Now a message from my sponsor :-

Bill Hicks – Play from your fucking heart monologue (Video Cutaway)

“If it’s a choice between eternal hell and good tunes or eternal heaven and New Kids on the Fucking Block, I’m going to be surfing on the lake of fire rockin out, high fiving Satan every time I pass him on the fucking shore…. Cause you know if you play New Kids on the Block albums backwards… They sound better!!!

Oh come on on bill don’t pick on the New Kids. They are so clean cut and such a good image for the children.

Fuck That!!! When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children? I want my children to listen to people who fucking rocked! I don’t care if they died in puddles of their own vomit!! I want someone who plays from his fucking heart!!!"

This is the philosophy behind my art, my work and my life.

This is the kind of sponsor that will be attracted towards this project. This is the kind of sponsor that I want to create content for. Connoisseurs of fine art with a rock and roll heart. People who want to tap into and get lost in that place between the notes.

You, the consumer, have the power. The market dictates. So what kind of art do you want to see produced? What stories do you want to be told? What stories do you want to hear? What kind of artists do you want to support?

So Who Am I?
I’m a storyteller. A songwriter, producer, musician and journalist by trade, I make music and documentaries of my adventures around this magical world.

I’m a modern day multimedia artist. A musician my entire adult life I finally released my debut E.P a few years ago and have been touring Australia in one capacity or another for the last 5 years.
Over the last few years I have built a catalogue of hundreds of videos and thousands of photos and a swag full of stories all ripe to transform into a fun and informative documentary series.

Oh, and I’ve just unleashed my new album unto the world!!!

So what do I do?

  • -I live life
  • -I write songs
  • -I record demos
  • -I produce the songs with some of the best musicians I know. My new album Sticking to My Guns features 7 musical luminaries across 20 instruments. Listen here
  • -I produce video clips and digital art for some of these songs
  • -I tour Australia performing my music live for people
  • -I video record some of my adventures
  • -This recording includes exploring and capturing Australian history, culture, personalities, land marks and attractions
  • - I do further research and turn these recordings into a travel documentaries series entitled “One Town at a Time”, named after one of my songs
  • -I also write related articles using the research and photos that I collect transforming these photos into digital artworks.
  • -I live life
  • -I write songs
  • -The cycle continues

My New Album
I have just released my new album entitled Sticking to my Guns which I am about to launch with a month long tour of Queensland.

This album has taken me 3 years and over $20k to produce, and a lot of this was mates’ rates, calling in a lot of favours and owing friends more than a few in return. Producing 7 musicians with 20 instruments separately over 3 years requires a certain production skill set, network, attention to detail and artistic vision.

I am hoping that the support of my Patrons will allow my content creation to become sustainable in the long term as well as allow me to produce content more frequently, as well as to pay my colleagues properly for their professional services.

Given the nature of free entertainment in the modern world I will be rewarding my Patrons with exclusive merchandise and extended content, as well as the ability to suggest video destinations or even be part of one of our videos. Behind the scenes content and live Q&A sessions are also on offer, as well as private House Concerts.

More About Me and the Project/s
At my heart and soul I’m a musician. The universe has violently directed me down this path on more than one occasion. Firstly breaking my hand at the age of 17, before breaking my back in two places at the age of 25 (We won’t mention how many times it has broken my heart). The solace of music has been my saviour, my purpose, my gift and now my platform.

I will leave my music to speak for itself, because that’s how it should be. Besides, trying to describe it is like trying to describe my own face…

Instead I would rather speak of the platform that it affords me, to explore the world and collect stories to share along the way, nearly all of which are just happened upon as I go walkabout.

Australian culture is important to me. It’s a huge part of who I am, I’m Australian.
Recording and defining the Australian identity requires a colourful palette, an inquisitive mind and open, adventurous heart. I feel I have a unique perspective, voice and stories to tell.

From the Red Centre to the sea there are more ways to live your life than you could ever dream, so pack your bags as we hit the road. One town at a time, come on let’s go!!!!
